AROUND MOONLIGHT

The band's name is 'Revel Stoke'. They are locals from the divide. One member is a founding member of 'Tesla' if memory serves me well. They come with high recommendations and can play just about any music from the '60's to today. Think of music that reminds you of what has brought you together with this rag-tag bunch. Write them down and we will do our best to have it played on Saturday evening June 25th.  Here is a link to one of their performances:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJ742PbplO0

ROCK CLIMBING

There are an abundance of rocks and boulders to climb. The American River flows through the area, so there are many small and large Falls that are hiking distance from the party site. Ruthie's Pond is the closest and this is where many people choose to lounge and swim in the refreshing water. Those of you with a taste for adventure can hike along Bear Creek to the various Falls, some can be as far as 3 hours ( in and out). This is the best spot for rock climbing. There are many different terrains and levels of rock climbing you can experience on this hike. You will see some spectacular views of the land as well.

HORSEBACK RIDING
RIVER RAFTING

Bicycles are my favorite form of transportation. I encourage anyone to bring their bikes to the party. The roads are steep getting in and out of the party site but the top of the ridge is ideal biking. Darling Ridge road is close by and most of it is paved and reasonable flat. Biking in nature!

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Horses have been THE way to get around the steep hills of the Georgetown Divide since the days of the Native Americans. Ruth McCabe had Star in a corral where some of you will be camping in June. It would be great to have a couple of horses back up on the ridge for the party.

I will do my best to make that happen. If anyone knows of someone that can help with that, don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks to 'El Nino' The rivers and lakes of Northern California are flowing again. When I visited in October, it was quite the opposite. In 1996 Tim Hamrah lead a party of us from Chile Bar on the South Fork of the American River through the rapids. Now, as I mentioned,  there are Companies that run that tour. We will have all the information avalaible on June 24th for those interested to sign up. Details about gear, cost, and transport will be provided at that time.

Trust me this is a FUN experience for young and old.
